UBU

Comfortable, uncomplicated & effortless swimwear

ABOUT

UBU is a swimwear brand that focuses on comfortable, uncomplicated and effortless style for the modern, conscious, active woman. They design functional and fashionable bikinis and one piece swimsuits that fit right, look amazing and are kind to the environment.

IMPACT
People

UBU works with a small, family run business in Bali. The founder has spent a lot of time working with the factory and team during production runs. UBU keeps in close contact with the factory and ensures that all staff earn a living wage.

Product

UBU Swimwear is made of ECONYL®, a 100% regenerated nylon fiber that is made of pre and post-consumer waste. They also design reversible styles, to get more uses from the styles. Thus, their swimwear can last for years. The brand makes their swimwear in small batches, and do not rush production. They is currently working towards becoming zero waste.

Packaging

UBU Swimwear uses compostable mailers. Customers can also opt for their orders to be packed in clean, reused packaging.

Planet

UBU Swimwear uses ECONYL® fabric, which turns nylon scraps from manufacturing and production, ghost fishnets recovered from the ocean, and carpet fluff saved from landfills into a durable material. They have also partnered with Ecologi to plant a tree for every product purchased to offset some carbon emissions.

Principles

UBU’s main goal is to provide great quality swimwear that women can feel comfortable and attractive in, which will also last them for many years. Thus, all products can be used frequently and to last. They also prioritise making all their products ethically and responsibly. The brand promotes body acceptance, sustainability and positivity. They also aim to be as transparent as possible, and continue to raise awareness of the fight against plastic and ocean pollution.
