STELAR is a purpose-driven brand founded by Lorna Watson, built on the principles of community, craftsmanship, transparency, and regeneration. Established in Bali, STELAR collaborates with local artisan communities to create luxury, handcrafted bags and accessories that preserve traditional weaving skills. The brand’s mission is to build a modern luxury label that sets new industry standards for traceability, valuing not only the items they create but also the people and skills behind them.

IMPACT
STELAR designs are made in communities, not factories. The brand believes that knowing the origin of your purchases should be a standard, not a luxury. That’s why each item is paired with a unique digital code, connecting customers directly to the artisan who crafted it. By producing in communities instead of factories, the brand supports artisans to work from home, within the villages where their craftsmanship began.
STELAR designs use natural plant fibres indigenous to Indonesia, grown organically by the artisan communities they work with wherever possible. Bamboo is durable and fast-growing, while atta grass, when dried, becomes as strong as steel. Lontar and agel fibres are soft, pliable, and maintain their shape even when rolled or folded.
Their signature butter-soft nappa leather is a by-product of organic farming, sourced from a Silver Rate-certified tannery in Java that follows ethical and sustainable practices. STELAR’s leather artisans in Bali are multi-generational weavers.
The brand’s jacquard fabric is crafted using traditional Bali weaving techniques, with each item uniquely dyed and woven in a contemporary style.
Lorna Watson founded STELAR with the clear intention of placing high-level craftsmanship and skilled artisans at the heart of the business, creating exceptional handcrafted goods in a more responsible and traceable way.
