IMPACT
People
In order to have maximum oversight of their production, Sans Faff produces their pieces in Singapore by a family run business with supplemental manufacturing in China. Their local factory resides in a Jurong Town Corporation (JTC) industrial estate in Singapore. As a government-owned real estate company, JTC strives to provide safe working conditions for all of its tenants and visitors. They also enforce strict tenancy guidelines that provide clean working conditions, structural safety, fire protection, energy savings and the accessibility requirements needed to maintain a safe working environment for everyone. Sans Faff’s supply chain partners at Fashion Group Solutions thoroughly also audit their factory partners in China. All supplier information is readily available upon request.
Product
After learning about the toll that wood-based viscose takes on the world’s forests, Sans Faff shifted its focus towards bamboo – one of the fastest-growing plants in the world. Since their launch in February 2020, they have set out to become fully accountable for the lifecycle of their raw materials and final products. The brand has developed its new custom made Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified bamboo fabrics. Their new “Enviro Rib” bamboo fabric is the first of its kind. They know how and where the bamboo is grown. The brand’s internationally recognized certifications also ensure that all bamboo involved in the production of their clothing comes from organically grown FSC certified plantations. These have been rigorously audited to guarantee Sans Faff’s bamboo will not contribute to natural habitat loss or deforestation. In addition, their fabrics are also OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 Certified to be free from harmful chemicals.

Planet
Sans Faff offsets the waste that they produce, not just in Singapore but globally. They do everything in their power to leave as little of a footprint on the planet as possible. As of May 2021, Sans Faff is officially Singapore’s first ‘Waste Neutral’ fashion label in partnership with Nu Cycle. Nu Cycle is the world’s first multi waste stream offset service. Their offset credits are all converted to circular projects. The organization has also conducted an in-depth audit of the annual amount of waste that the brand creates during production. They then remove the equivalent weight of their waste impact from the environment in some of the world’s most affected regions. Nu Cycle’s offset partner Geo Trash Management removes ocean plastics and non-recyclable plastics from the natural environment. They then convert them into renewable fuel in Indonesia.
Principles
One of the core tenets of the label is sustainability. Sans Faff wants to invest in the planet, support local communities and also protect world resources for generations to come. As a company, they strive to create a platform for consumers to make a difference. By shifting the focus from temporary trends to enduring essentials, Sans Faff encourages buying more responsibly and wearing more consciously. They are eager to learn and also explore new ideas to accelerate responsible change in the business.
